MOst. DO. N.D. Registered Osteopath
Vijay is an experienced osteopath who has built up considerable experience treating a wide range of age groups and ailments.
At the beginning of his career he developed the skills needed as a mechanical specialist, he has a thorough understanding of faulty compensations patterns in functional movement. This enables him to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal injury as well as retrain underlying faulty movement patterns. More recently he has developed a particular interest in the treatment of migraines, jaw problems and in how the digestive system can be implicated into pseudo musculoskeletal presentations.
Vijay completed a four years MA in Osteopathy with a diploma in Naturopathy at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has completed additional postgraduate certification in Cranial osteopathy, medical acupuncture and pilates with the APPI. He has a long history of practising yoga, tai chi and is a trained pilates instructor. He has taught at BCOM since 2017 as Module Leader in Osteopathic Technique and is now part of the Visceral Osteopathy team.
Vijay believes that truly listening to the patient is fundamental in order to understand both what is affecting their well-being and what can be done to bring them to optimum health. Key to this is understanding that other dysfunctioning body systems outside of the musculoskeletal framework can be contributing to the person’s presentation.
